Catbrook Memorial Hall and COVID-19
Unfortunately The Hall remains closed and in view of changing circumstances and Government requirements it is likely to stay closed for the foreseeable future. The Trustees are continually monitoring the situation and will carry out a review as soon as circumstances allow. Consequently the regular festive events and Centenary celebration will not take place as planned this year.
In the meantime The Trustees would like to wish everyone all the best for 2021
as far as this is possible in these difficult times.
Trustees of Catbrook Memorial Hall
Welcome to Catbrook, a small village in Monmouthshire, set high above Tintern on the western side of the Wye Valley, in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The website aims to keep those living in, or visiting, Catbrook and the surrounding area in touch with events and matters that are part of our village life.
If there is anything you would like to see included on the site, or if you have suggestions for changes or improvements, please get in touch with Sarah or Steve through the 'contact us' page.
Supporting local children and young people with learning and development grants
The Catbrook Educational Trust (CET) was launched in 2004 after a group of residents from the Catbrook community fought to get the proceeds from the sale of the Catbrook School put into Trust for the children of Catbrook. The Trust was active for some years, but hasn’t been able to distribute any grants in recent years. The capital has been carefully protected and with a new board of Trustees we are now in a position to re-launch the CET.
The Trust was set up with the aim of supporting the education (including social and physical training) of young people under the age of 25, who are or have been resident in the catchment area of the former Catbrook School. This area includes the villages of Catbrook, Broadstone, Whitelye, Parkhouse, Trellech Grange, Cicelyford and Botany Bay.
Applications for grants will open after the Easter holidays 2021 and will close at the end of June; with funds being sent to successful applicants in August, ready for the new school year. To find out more information about the Trustees, how the Trust will be managed and the application click on the logo to go to the CET Webpage.
